On Saturday, our Pymble 1 team came up against Briars Maroon under 17s at Russell Park in Drummoyne. A noticeable improvement was seen this round from all cricketers. Notable mentions to Phoebe Cooper (Year 9), Amber Wang (Year 8), Dezi Magann-Jones (Year 9) and Charlotte Carruthers (Year 8) who were able to put some runs on the board for the Pymble team. With the ball in hand Charlotte Carruthers and Phoebe Cooper took wickets on the day. Unfortunately, our total runs for the day weren’t enough and the opposition were able to chase Pymble down with 5 wickets in hand.
Pymble 2 were back at Blackman Park against Lane Cove Cricket Girls Under 13s. Our cricketers were strong with the bat with Sophie Webster (Year 7), Anjali Shah (Year 7), Abani Dhaliwal (Year 7), Brielle McDonald (Year 7), Laranya Nanthakumaran (Year 7) and Charlotte Henderson (Year 7) all contributing to the runs tally. Wicket takers for the day were Sophie Webster (Year 7), Brielle McDonald (Year 7) and Charlotte Henderson (Year 7). Unfortunately, this was not enough on the day and the opposition chased down our score to get the victory.
Despite the losses our teams are making noticeable improvements and regardless of the result are always smiling and having fun!
