From the Director of Student Learning (Years 7 to 10)

Allwell testing – November 2021 test results for current Years 7 and 9 students

In November 2021, all incoming Year 7 students were invited to sit a series of progressive achievement tests administered by Academic Assessment Services (referred to as Allwell tests). Similarly, we offered the Allwell tests to our Year 9 2022 students.

Students were assessed on educational skills and aptitude, including:

  • General reasoning
  • Mathematics
  • Reading comprehension
  • Spelling
  • Written expression.

These tasks are norm referenced and measure how a student compares to others of the same school year across the state. This rich data also allows us to identify trends, highlights opportunities for targeted support and/or challenge opportunities and provides access longitudinal data to measure the impact we are having on our girls and their academic achievement.

The results of the November testing sessions are being mailed out to parents/carers; please contact curriculum@pymblelc.nsw.edu.au should you not receive a copy of the results before the close of business on 25 February.

Allwell testing – Year 7 catch-up test on Thursday 24 February

We have been able to secure catch-up testing with Allwell for Thursday 24 February (next Thursday). If your daughter did not complete the test, she will receive an email on Monday morning with the details for the catch-up testing.

Please reassure your daughter that no special preparation is required for these tests. The most important thing is for her to arrive relaxed and refreshed for the testing day. Note: a calculator is required for the numerical section.

Most students will not experience any great difficulty undertaking these tests. However, it is important they do not spend too much time on questions they find too difficult. Most students will not complete the test within the time allowed; nor should they expect to answer every question.

Thank you in advance for your support of this exceptionally rich opportunity for both the College and your daughter. Please contact me should you require any further information.
