From the Upper School
From our Head of Upper School
A very warm welcome to an action-packed Term 2 in the Upper School! I do hope your girls have had a restful and enjoyable break, and that they returned renewed and invigorated for the myriad of exciting opportunities available this term. I too hope you and they managed to catch some of the beautiful sunshine that graced us over the holiday break.
It was lovely to see the large majority of Upper School girls wearing their winter uniform with pride this morning at our Anzac service. Please do remind your daughters about appropriate earrings, jewellery, and ribbons. We are keen to ensure they are well represented and showing off their Pymble pride as a symbol of our Upper School trademark behaviour of positivity.
For Year 9 this term we look forward to our author talk in Week 2 as part of our sharing stories week. We also have Lynda Hart, our local Police Liaison Officer, speaking with the students in Week 4 and Dr Andrew Browning, on behalf of the Barbara May Foundation, in Week 5. Additionally, students can look forward to the Athletics Carnival at Homebush in Week 5, the da Vinci Decathlon, NAPLAN, and of course attending the Stand Tall event at the Sydney Convention Centre in Week 7. We will also shortly be conducting interview discussions for those students who have expressed an interest in our Residential Program at Vision Valley in Term 3 and look forward to hearing their excitement for this pioneering experience.
For Year 10 this term we look forward to our careers interviews beginning in Week 2, having Unity Grammar visit us at Pymble as part of raising our intercultural awareness, attending the Athletics Carnival at Homebush, the da Vinci Decathlon, our ySafe Online Safety presentation in Week 9, and of course our Connections Day on the topic of consent led by Your Choicez. We will also shortly be providing more information to those families who have expressed an interest in our Overseas Exchange Program and/or Oxford Royale Academy Summer Program.
We look forward to sharing news and pictures from all of these experiences throughout the term.
