Senior Firsts Hockey – Crowned 2022 Champions!

Congratulations to our Pymble 1 Hockey team for their stellar performance last Friday in the igsa Hockey semi-final at the Sydney Olympic Park Hockey Centre. Our players competed against PLC Armidale who were sitting at 2nd place on the leaderboard. Pymble were victorious with a score of 3 goals to 1.

Our players returned to Olympic Park the next morning to play against the undefeated PLC Sydney team in the grand final. In a dynamite performance, and with everyone on the edge of their seats, the score at full time was even at 1 goal to 1 which led the game into extra time (15 minutes). With an additional 7.5 minutes each way in a 9 versus 9 player scenario, zero points were placed on the board. To add to the thrill and adrenaline, this led to an additional 7.5 minutes in a 7 versus 7 game, where our Pymble 1 players delivered exceptional defense and a monumental goal to win the premiership 2 goals to 1!

Congratulations again to all our Pymble 1 Hockey players for a momentous effort!

A big thank you to Graham Brennan, Kate Jenner and all of our Hockey coaches for their efforts and for such a successful season of Hockey.

Thank you to our Hockey parents for their commitment, ensuring our athletes attend all training sessions and games. I hope your daughters have enjoyed the season and we hope to see them all back again in 2023.

To our Year 12 Hockey players, thank you for all your contribution towards igsa Hockey over the years – you will be missed.

Well done to Sydney Auld (Year 12) for being a wonderful leader and Hockey Captain for 2022. You have been tremendous role model for our players across the entire Hockey season.

Junior Firsts Hockey – Sensational Semi

A wonderful result for our Junior Firsts Hockey team who competed in the semi-final last Friday in a 1 versus 4 game, against the undefeated New England Girls School (NEGS).

Our team were impressive for the entire game, displaying resilience and persistence. They walked away with a well-deserved win over NEGS with a final score of 5 goals to 4.

Our Pymble 4 players also backed up the next morning for the grand final game against Ascham School. Unfortunately, the result was a loss of 0 goals to 1, however they should be proud of their performance.

Thank you to all Hockey parents and players. We are looking at potentially entering an Indoor Hockey competition in Term 4, I will send the information once I have all the details.  Watch this space!
