Festival of Speech

Congratulations! We did it! What a fun festival. A wonderful Friday evening and Saturday was had by all. Congratulations to the whole Festival team of competitors, coaches, student volunteers, student bakers and all those who were the wind beneath our wings. We were so well supported by our parent body, Chartwells our caterers and many Pymble staff. A massive thank you to all.

Pymble placed 5th in the Junior Section, 5th in the Senior Section and 5th overall. A very solid result. Well done!

Legacy State Final

Congratulations to Jenny Xu who represented Pymble so ably in the Grand Final of the Legacy Public Speaking Competition. Jenny performed strongly in both Prepared and Impromptu sections. Thanks to Emily Abadee and Joy Yee, our LA Captain of Public Speaking, who accompanied her on the day and to Jenny’s father who drove us in to the NSW Art Gallery Venue, early on a wet morning. We will be back!

International Debating

CCSA has sent registrations and timing details to IDC participants. The season will commence tomorrow. We have ten teams registered for the International Debating Championship. Good luck to all. Topic Areas are

Round 3: Social Issues 

Round 4: Hypothetical (The topics in round 4 will be formatted as “That we would prefer a world…eg: “That we would prefer a world where individuals could selectively erase their memories”)

Mediation

UN Voice of Youth

Debating Auditions

Debating Auditions will be held tomorrow for new to Pymble, 2023 Year 7 girls. Notes have been sent via CCSA. Other dates to be released soon.

New girls in other years will be auditioned in the first weeks of Term 1 next year.
