Swimming

On Sunday 13 February our Pymble IGSA Swim squad participated in an IGSA Training Day at Manly. This training day is a new addition to our IGSA Swimming campaign and is aimed at building team culture, discipline and commitment as we prepare our team for the IGSA Swimming Championships, in which we aim to claim the throne for the fifth consecutive year.

We kicked off the training day with an early morning movement and mobility workshop with Rod from Holistica Movement, who specialises in mobility programming and sport specific movement patterns. Rob tested our team by taking them through a swimming specific program which the students found beneficial and can apply to their everyday training processes.

Following the movement workshop, the squad hit the pool to run through some race specific technique work followed by a range of team challenges to test out everybody’s competitiveness. After lunch the athletes hit the beach for a team building session run by our Team Captain Angelica Tan. Angelica had a range of activities planned to develop team communication, spirit and energy that the coaching team challenged the participants to continue through until the day of the IGSA Championships.

The day was a success, full of laughter, smiles and enthusiasm. Team unity was evident, and certainly rewarding as the Pymble squad kicks into the IGSA season.
