Team of the week
A special mention to our Pymble 1 team who had a very tight match against Santa Sabina on Saturday morning. Santa Sabina is regarded as the Volleyball powerhouse, and our Senior Firsts managed an impressive 2 to 0 win (25 to 23 and 25 to 23).
Congratulations to our Volleyball Captain, Emma Sargeant (Year 11) on her recent Volleyball achievements.
Emma has been selected as a member of the New South Wales (NSW) Phoenix Senior Women’s team. She played the Adelaide Storm at Sydney Olympic Park in two Australian Volleyball League (AVL) matches over the weekend. They won on Saturday and lost on Sunday and now have a 3 to 1 win/loss record after two wins against Queensland Pirates last week.
Phoenix is the performance program that sits at the highest tier of the Volleyball NSW pathway for athletes, coaches, and referees.
The AVL is the highest level of competitive Volleyball in Australia, with teams from each of the six states and the Australian Capital Territory playing in a home and away season in 2022, returning after two years of cancellations.
Here is Emma in action over the weekend.
