Saturday 19 November
On Saturday 19 November we combined our Pymble 1 and 2 teams. Our players were excited to play with some new faces. A rejuvenated new look Pymble team took to the field against North Sydney.
North Sydney batted first scoring a total of 89 runs. Special mentions to Sophie Webster (Year 7), Brielle McDonald (Year 7) and Amelia Watson (Year 7) who were instrumental in disarming the North Sydney batting line up. With the bat in hand special mentions to Sophie Webster who retired not out on 33 runs and Phoebe Cooper (Year 9) with 16 runs.
Pymble were able to chase down the total with eight overs to spare! This is the team’s first win and a well-deserved one at that. Congratulations girls!
Saturday 26 November
Pymble 1 and 2 were able to combine again on Saturday against Litchfield North Sydney. Our cricketers were fierce in their bowling attack cutting off many quick singles and suffocating the opposition run score. Special mentions to Charlotte Carruthers (Year 8) and Brielle McDonald (Year 7) who were lethal with their bowling.
After 20 overs the Pymble team restricted North Sydney to 53 runs. Our Pymble cricketers all managed to score runs whilst batting which was an amazing effort. Top scorers were Sophie Webster (Year 7), Darcey Hawkins (Year 9) and Abani Dhaliwal (Year 7). Pymble were able to secure their second win of the season after reaching the opposition’s total in 7 hours!
An amazing effort over the last fortnight from our Pymble cricketers and I look forward to seeing them back out on the pitch in Term 1!
