Team of the Week

This week’s Team of the Week goes to our legends in Pymble 3. Their only loss of the season came in their semi-final match. Here’s what captain Isabella Chen (Year 9), had to say about their bronze medal match:

“The first thing I would like to say is that I am extremely proud of our team! Everyone played fantastically and despite not making it into finals, the team played well during our Bronze match on Saturday. Although we were a bit out of it during the first set, we reset in the second, played our best and took back that set. Our serving was a lot better in the second and third set, and eventually we played our game and focused. I have to say that even though we couldn’t control the weather, the wind definitely impacted our performance that day and made it more difficult to predict where the ball was going. We were all super excited to receive our Bronze medal and had an amazing time. Great job everyone!”

Results Breakdown

Pymble 1 won their grand-final against Danebank to become the first Pymble team to ever win the Opens Division 1 bracket.

Pymble 2 won their final game of the season ending the season undefeated! We are currently waiting on final confirmation, but this result should put our girls in first place in the Opens Division 2 bracket, as their competition was “first past the post.”

Pymble 3 won their bronze medal match against St. Scholastica’s College in the Year 9 Division 1 bracket.

Pymble 5 won their grand-final against Monte Sant’ Angelo, taking out gold in the Year 9 Division 3 bracket. They completed the season undefeated!

Pymble 6 won their bronze medal match against PLC Sydney, in the Year 7 Division 1 bracket. They won this game 3 to 0 in dominant fashion, after only just beating the same team two weeks prior, 2 to 1.

Final report from our Volleyball Captain Emma Sargeant

This weekend, seven of our Pymble Volleyball teams competed in the final round of the Santa Sabina competition, with many teams fighting for a medal. We had some outstanding results from many teams, with five out of seven teams receiving a medal. It was an incredibly successful weekend for Pymble.

Pymble 1 – Opens Division 1 Grand Final Champions

Pymble 2 – Opens Division 2 Grand Final Champions

Pymble 3 – Year 9 Division 1 Bronze Medallists

Pymble 5 – Year 9 Division 3 Grand Final Champions

Pymble 6 – Year 7 Division 1 Bronze Medallists

The girls have worked tirelessly this term developing their fundamentals and learning to work together as a team. These achievements are well deserved. Well done to all the girls who competed, it has been a super successful season for all teams and players. Also, a huge thank you to our coaches Sheilah, Brian, Maddy, Vee, and Yung, and our co-ordinator Mr Wood for their endless support this season.
