From the Senior School

From the Head of Senior School

Welcome back to all our Senior School families. We have started 2023 with a bang with Year 12 heading off the Vision Valley for a one day retreat program to reconnect with friends and enjoy some time together before the work begins again.

As I write this, Year 11 are just finishing their last day at Collaroy on the Year 11 Retreat. They are learning about leadership and personal safety, enjoying team building games and having fun participating in a range of activities ranging from learning to surf, to beach games, archery and high ropes! (Just to name a few). We will have more updates from the happy campers in next week’s Newsletter.

I have spent some time both Year groups this week and am so impressed by their willingness to get involved, stretch themselves and give things a go.

Thursday will see a return to campus for both Years 11 and 12, so the KM building will be humming. This week the students will also be hearing from Paul Dillon, from DARTA, on drug and alcohol education. More information can be found here https://darta.net.au/

Restablishing Routines

Please remember that as we return from a break, resetting and re-establishing solid routines around sleeping, drinking plenty of water and healthy meals is vital. These humid and hot days are draining, both physically and intellectually, and being as healthy as possible certainly assists in keeping solid academic focus and general wellbeing.

From the Heads of Year 12

Year 12 are so excited to be back on campus and are enjoying their first week back at school – there is an amazing buzz in the KM building. Our retreat out to Vision Valley on Monday was a great chance to reconnect, socialise and have some fun. Head Prefects Freya and Alyssa share the following:

The retreat at Vision Valley was a really relaxing and enjoyable experience, and the perfect way to ease into the new year before we entered school back in full swing. It was a great chance to spend time with our friends and catch up on holiday memories, as well as take part in a few fun activities during the day. We really appreciate the thought and work put in behind the scenes to make the day special for us all.
