Job of the Week: TAS Teacher

If you’re an enthusiastic and energetic teacher that believes in making a difference every day, we are looking for you to join our inspiring TAS team on a full-time, temporary basis for the 2023 school year.

Whether you’re a new graduate, or with years of experience behind you, you’ll be confident about delivering curriculum for Stage 4 Mandatory Technology classes, as well as bringing your love for your specialty subject area, whether that be Food Technology, Textiles or Design and Technology. You will be innovative and think outside of the box to deliver engaging lessons, with a focus on wellbeing for both yourself and your students. With aspects of practical lessons, you won’t be afraid to get your hand dirty and continue your own learning journey along the way.

With multiple top rankings, first in states and state nominations for Food Technology and Textiles, you will join a strong and high achieving team, with a focus on professional learning and development, and allows your own autonomy. You will be supported for success to achieve your own goals as well as the aspirations of our students.

Our kind of teacher

You will display the following skills and attributes:

  • Have the ability to teach across the Secondary curriculum, especially Stage 4 Mandatory Technology.
  • Willingness and confidence to deliver Stage 5 and/or HSC curriculum in Food Technology, Textiles or Design and Technology would be highly desirable.
  • Have an excellent understanding of the NESA syllabus and hold current NESA accreditation.
  • Be a positive and collaborative contributor to a successful department committed to improving educational outcomes.
  • New graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Be confident in differentiating the curriculum in the classroom.
  • Have a strong understanding of the application of technology to enhance learning.
  • Be a reflective professional engaged in ongoing development and research in relation to your practice.
